About the project

Cattle ranching is the primary cause of deforestation in Colombia. This project aims to restore native forests in areas degraded by livestock through assisted natural regeneration (ANR). Furthermore, by acquiring land to restore forest functionality and improve ecosystem connectivity and biodiversity, this initiative will convert the acquired lands into civil society reserves, ensuring their long-term protection. Additionally, it will engage neighbouring communities to ensure the sustained success of restoration activities. In addition to advancing carbon sequestration, the project promotes sustainable livelihoods and strengthens climate resilience. It aligns with global climate objectives, generating high-quality carbon credits while restoring critical ecosystems and fostering biodiversity conservation.
