The Banegas Farm is a reforestation project located in the National Park of Corcovado in Golfo Dulce Reserve, Costa Rica at the following coordinates: 8.686570°, -83.543647°. Fundación Corcovado’s restoration efforts will generate significant environmental and social co-benefits, such as ecosystem restoration, and species conservation, as well as contribute to local communities’ economic empowerment. Over the next three years (2022-2025), local communities will plant a total of 6,000 native trees over 4 hectares of lowland tropical forest, protecting its important fauna and flora. Planting will be carried out by local volunteers and local youth with seeds and seedlings purchased from a local women-owned tree nursery.
