Ecosystem Restoration Standard (ERS), a leading ecosystem restoration and carbon certification standard, has appointed Judith Simon as its Chief Operating Officer. This strategic appointment follows ERS’s recent €5M fundraising as it accelerates its mission to restore and protect 1% of the planet by 2030.
Judith Simon joins ERS following her tenure as President and Interim CEO at Verra, the largest standard-setter on the voluntary carbon markets. She brings over 30 years of leadership, strategy, and operational expertise, having previously led transformational initiatives at Fortune 500 companies such as Zillow and CarMax.
“This marks a pivotal moment for ERS. Judith’s unparalleled experience in both large-scale enterprise operations and carbon markets makes her uniquely positioned to help us navigate our next phase of growth. I am thrilled to welcome her to the team.” – Thibault Sorret, CEO, ERS
As COO, Judith will oversee operations across the organisation, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure sustainable, profitable growth. Her appointment comes at a crucial time as ERS begins to scale and expands its suite of certification methodologies to cover a broader range of projects.
“I could not be more excited to join Thibault and the ERS team at this transformative stage. ERS has built a fully digitalised and integrated platform ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in project certification. The combination of technology, service orientation, and advanced data modelling positions ERS as a game-changer in the market. I look forward to contributing to this next chapter of growth and advancing our mission to help organisations restore and protect the natural world.” – Judith Simon, Chief Operating Officer, ERS
With Judith’s leadership, ERS is preparing to scale as the go-to standard for nature-based projects on the carbon markets.
